About ShopTheTrail.com
The Great Western Cattle Trail was a major commercial enterprise begun in 1874. Cattlemen and drovers trailed millions of cattle and one million horses from and through many Texas towns from the southern border to points further north, including Canada.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Trail, merchants, city councils, Chambers of Commerce, and Rotary Clubs in the Texas towns along the route of the Trail are kicking off a 15-month celebration with a major commercial promotion of local businesses in each town. The consolidated website linking to all the towns is ShopTheTrail.com.
